How about the studying process?

If you are a Chinese learner with zero proficiency, you should start your study at the beginner Level. The beginner Level includes Pinyin pronunciation, tones, vocabulary, and basic speaking and listening skills. When you have finished the Beginner Level, you will have mastered over 300 Chinese words and be able to use them easily. Next, you have two choices. You can remain in the beginner Level and join the Practice Program.  Or, you can go on to the next level which is the elementary Level.  The elementary Level focuses on grammar, vocabulary building, and more advanced speaking and listening skills.  When you have completed the elementary Level, your vocabulary will reach over 1,000 to 1,500 words. You will have the ability to communicate with Chinese people. It will be easy for you to travel around China and handle most personal and business affairs without assistance.  How long you will need to remain in the beginner Level and/or elementary Level will depend upon your individual progress, and there is no time limit in how long you can remain in the class. Once you feel that you are ready, it would be very helpful to know some Chinese characters.  The Beginner Level offers an elective course in reading and writing Chinese characters. We also recommend that you join in the Beginner Level Practice Program to practice what you have been studying. If you can speak better about most of the topics at your level, you should be full of confidence in your practical application ability. Certainly, you will also have the basic skills to communicate with your Chinese friends. We highly recommend that you study Chinese characters first before moving on to the next level. At the Intermediate Level, besides your regular study, we also offer various relevant, in-depth topics for your further practice. At this level, you will continue to expand your knowledge of Chinese.  When you have completed the Intermediate Level, we believe your vocabulary will exceed 2,500 to 3,500 words which is comparable to a Chinese native speaker. With your love of the Chinese language, you may choose to go on to the advanced Level. When you have finished the advanced Level of study and practice, your vocabulary should reach well over 4,000 words. You will be able to read Chinese newspapers, magazines, websites, and business documents with great proficiency. Your speaking ability will be comparable to university educated Chinese people.
